BJD Parliamentary party leader in Rajya Sabha Pyari Mohan Mohapatra has ruled out any split within the party.
Addressing a press conference at Bhubaneswar today Mr Mohapatra said that Mr. Patnaik continues to be the party leader. He also said that he has no intention to topple the state government and become the next Chief Minister.
Mr Mohapatra said there is no dissidence in the party and grievances have increased because the party organisation is not looked after properly. He, however, said the Odisha Chief Minister is being mis-guided by a group of conspirators comprising of ministers, MPs and MLAs.
He said the real threat to Mr Patnaik and the BJD is from these conspirators who are within the party. He dared to suspend or expel him from BJD adding that majority of MLAs and party workers are behind
him.
There have been reports of a split within the BJD after Mr Mohapatra called a meeting at his Bhubaneswar residence last night where 33 MLAs including three ministers were present.
According to sources in BJD, Mr Naveen Patnaik is also cutting short his visit to United Kingdom and rushing back to Bhubaneswar considering the political crisis in his party.
