BJD President denies being in talks with BJP-led NDA on govt formation; Jayalalithaa says, she will reveal her plan after declaration of results

Odisha Chief Minister Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik today said he is not in talks with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance on government formation at the Centre. Speaking to media persons at Bhubaneswar after returning from New Delhi, Naveen said his party has not yet decided to support NDA and also not given a thought to it. He also remained non-committal on joining a third front at the Centre. The BJD chief repeated his earlier stand that his party is maintaining ‘equidistant’ from both the Congress and the BJP.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha today said that on the possibility of her party AIADMK 's support to BJP-led National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, she would reveal her plan after the results of the Lok Sabha elections are announced. On the likelihood of her party supporting a Third Front, Jayalalitha said that she cannot make any remark on any subject.
However, K Malaisamy, a leader from the AIADMK said today that Narendra Modi was a great friend of Jayalalithaa, though they might differ politically. He said, if Modi becomes PM then Jayalalitha would like close ties.
