<span style="color: #222222;">Biswajit Daimary has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of the Assam Assembly. The opposition parties didn't field any candidate to the post of Assembly Speaker, so the BJP candidate Mr. Daimary was elected unopposed. A former Bodoland People's Front leader Mr. Daimary joined the BJP last year. Born in 1971, he was first elected to state assembly in 2001. Later he became Rajya Sabha member thrice. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other leaders congratulated him on becoming the Speaker of the Assembly.</span><br />''  <br />
