Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel, the iron man of India and its unifier will be celebrated across the country for a week from 31st of this month. Last year, government had decided to observe Patel's birthday as Ekta Diwas. Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today reviewed the arrangements with all concerned agencies for the Prime Minister's programme in Delhi. <br/><br/>On 31st October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tributes to Sardar Patel at Patel statue and later in Parliament House. Later, Mr Modi will release a commemorative stamp at a function at India Gate. He will also administer Ekta pledge and flag off Unity Run. Over ten thousand people including general public, sports persons, ex-servicemen and students are expected to attend the function. <br/><br/>Ekta Pledge will also be administered in all government offices. All Central Ministers will visit different parts of the country during the week garlanding Patel statues and holding public meetings. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has written to all Chief Ministers suggesting to organise appropriate programmes based on the life and works of Sardar Patel.
