In Sri Lanka, the High Commission of India marked the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a programme organized at Indian cultural centre in Colombo. <br/><br/>High commission officials paid floral tributes to Iron Man and were administered pledge for national integration and unity. <br/><br/>A short documentary film on Sardar Patel was also screened for officials and resident Indians. <br/> <br/>Addressing the programme, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka YK Sinha recalled the contribution of Sardar Patel towards unifying India into a modern nation. He also recounted his contribution to the establishment of Indian bureaucracy, considered the steel frame of nation. <br/><br/>Mr. Sinha said some of the problems of today including terrorism could not have been there, had Sardar Patel served the country for a longer time.
