India bowled out England for 284 runs to take a crucial 132 run lead in the first innings on day 3 of the Birmingham Test on Sunday.
A power-packed century from Johny Bairstow however helped England avoid a follow on. Bairstow scored 106 runs that included 14 boundaries and two sixes. Billings with 36 runs was the only notable contributor for the England.
For India, pace quartret of Siraj, Bumrah,Shami and Shardul ripped through the England bating line up sharing all the wickets. Siraj took four wickets while Bumbrah scalped three and Shami took two wickets including that of Bairstow. Shardul took one wicket.
Opening their second innings, India were 37 for 1, when the reports last came in.
