Rural Development Minister Birender Singh has expressed concern over the maintenance of roads constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana(PMGSY) in different parts of the country. He asked the states to give focus in this direction. Delivering a keynote address on Good Governance initiatives under PMGSY in New Delhi today, Mr. Singh said the roads networks created under the scheme has changed the life style of rural people by connecting them to the city and helped in making their life hassle free. <br/><br/>He said the Centre will provide around two lakh crore rupees to Panchayats across the country in the coming years under the PMGSY to strengthen the roads infrastructure. <br/>On the occasion, the Minister released documents related to innovation and use of modern technology in road construction besides a Mobile Application. Minister of State for Rural Development Sudarshan Bhagat also expressed his view in the programme.
