South Korea has confirmed an outbreak of bird flu in a southwest region which is a main habitat for migratory birds. The Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said avian influenza virus was detected in wild birds on Mangyeong River, located in Iksan, North Jeolla Province. An emergency disinfection was conducted around the area along the river .
