Bird Flu hits Tripura

Bird Flu has again hit Tripura. The High Security Animal Disease Laboratory, Bhopal has confirmed the presence of H5N1 strain of Avian Influenza in the birds of government’s poultry farm at Gandhigram at the outskirts of Agartala.Only last month, culling and the mopping operation ended following reports of Bird Flu in the ICAR farm in January.Tripura Director for Animal Resource Development Department said today that monitoring has already begun in the the Government poultry farm and the adjoining areas and culling is expected to start soon.
