Birbhum Violence: Calcutta HC hand over probe to CBI into murder of TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh

The Calcutta High Court today handed over the probe into the murder of the deputy gram pradhan Bhadu Sheikh, which allegedly sparked violence in West Bengal's Birbhum district, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).<br />''<br />''The Court said that the murder of the panchayat leader associated with the TMC and the Birbhum violence that led to the deaths of at least nine are interlinked. It directed the state police to hand over all the records of the investigation and the accused who have been arrested in connection with the murder case to the CBI.<br />''<br />''The Court had earlier ordered a CBI investigation into the gruesome killings that took place in Bogtui village of Birbhum on March 21.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the investigation agency yesterday arrested four persons from Mumbai in connection with the killings at Bogtui village of Rampurhat in Birbhum district of West Bengal. The agency at present has the custody of at least 10 people who were arrested by the police in connection with the killings. Among them is then TMC block president Anarul Hossain.<br />''<br />
