Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today said Biotechnology has become a crucial arm of the Make in India campaign. Inaugurating the two – day Global Biotechnology Summit in New Delhi, he said the country is ready to be a global biotech destination. <br/><br/>Dr Harsh Vardhan said, the summit will provide an opportunity to bring together all stakeholders to discuss opportunities, collaborations and to prepare a joint action plan for achieving the target of 100 billion dollars, Biotech sector by 2025. <br/><br/>He said, over the 30 years Department of Biotechnology has achieved several height and contributed to multifarious areas like healthcare, agriculture, environment and industrial. The Minister said, the Summit will also help attract investors and other key partners to invest in the biotech sector in India. <br/><br/>It will broadly focus on the priority themes like Make in India, Nurturing Bio entrepreneurship, Skill India, Biotech opportunities and action for Swachh Bharat and Swasth Bharat.
