It was heartbreak as Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra failed to qualify for the men's 10 metre Air Rifle at the London Olympics 2012 today. However, his compatriot, Gagan Narang made it to the finals. Narang was in top form, shooting 598 out of possible 600 and qualified in the 3rd position. Bindra fell down the order with a score of 594 with 16 slots. Top eight qualified for the final which is slated later in the evening ( 4.45 pm). There were 54 shooters in the qualification stage. However, seven did not start and it was a 47 men line up.
