Hearing on the bail petition of the rights activist Binayak Sen will be resumed today in the Chhattisgarh High Court. Sen, currently undergoing life term on the charges of sedition, has moved the High court against the judgment of a lower court. A session’s court in Raipur had found him, along with Mr Narayan Sanyal and Mr Piyush Guha guilty of sedition on the 24th of December under different sections of the IPC and Chhattisgarh Public Security Act. The renowned lawyer Mr. Ram Jethmalani argued in support of Mr Sen’s bail petition in a packed court in Bilashpur on the 24th of last month. The state government is expected to make its points in today’s court proceedings.
