The pilots of Biman Bangladesh airlines have decided to report for duty after nearly three days of protests, which had severely affected the flight services of the national carrier of Bangladesh. General Secretary of the Bangladesh Airline Pilots Association M A Basit Mahtab said that the pilots have decided to join duty from late night on Friday following assurance by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to look into their demands. The decision of the pilots to resume duties comes just a few hours before the expiry of the 48 hour deadline given by the airline management on Thursday morning. The Bangladesh Airlines Pilots Association members decided not to report for duty on Tuesday night after the national flag carrier temporarily suspended four pilots of the association who were leading protests against the airline's plans to raise pilots retirement age to 62 from 57 years and also reducing their benefits.
