A Bill to rename employment exchanges as employment guidance and promotion centres, was introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. The Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Amendment Bill, 2013, is aimed at giving emphasis on the guidance and counseling aspect rather mere registration for jobs. The Bill also provides for an obligation on the part of the employer to furnish information about the selection against the notified vacancies.
