The government will introduce the Real Estate Regulatory Authority and Development Bill in the winter session of Parliament to protect the right of consumers and to encourage regulated growth of real estate sector.
Talking to media persons in New Delhi yesterday, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister, Selja said, the draft Bill will be sent to the Cabinet for its approval soon.
Elaborating on the salient features of the Real Estate Bill, the Minister said, it seeks to establish a regulatory oversight mechanism to enforce disclosure, fair practice and accountability norms in the real estate sector. Ms. Selja said, it will also provide adjudication machinery for speedy dispute redressal.
The Minister asserted that the main purpose of the Bill is to bring transparency in dealing with consumers.
