A bill to address the status of all employees working on deemed deputation in Prasar Bharati was today introduced in the Rajya Sabha . Introducing the Bill the Information and Broadcasting Miniter Ambika Soni said that in the light of government receiving several representations from Prasar Bharati employees about their status in it, the ministry decided to amend the Prasar Bharati Act 1990. She added that the act did not have provisions to address these concerns. The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Prasar Bharati in itsmeeting held on September 26, 2008, had recommended that government employees working with the public broadcaster would continue to remain on deemed deputation in it till their time of retirement. At the same time they will get all facilities enjoyed by a Central government employee.
