A bill seeking to provide better employment opportunities to minorities and other disadvantaged section of society is being introduced in the winter session of Parliament. The passage of the legislation in Parliament will pave the way for setting up Equal Opportunity Commission, which will push both private and public sectors for providing level playing field to minorities and other weaker sections. Official sources said better performers can be provided tax waivers while non performers can be penalised. Companies will be asked to give information on the diversity of work force. Sources said that the Law Ministry is working on the legislation and if any exception has to be made it will be in the Bill. Our correspondent adds that the Sachar Committee set up by the government had recommended setting up of Equal Oppotunity Commission to promote jobs for minorities.
