Bilateral talks between PM Modi, Israeli President underway

Prime Minmister Narendra Modi is holding bilateral talks with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin in New Delhi the visiting dignitary was given a ceremonial welcome in the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning.<br/><br/> Earlier, Mr Rivlin paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. Mr Rivlin will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee, on whose invitation the Israeli President is visiting India. <br/><br/>Vice President Hamid Ansari and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting dignitary. Mr Rivlin arrived in New Delhi yesterday on an eight-day visit to India. <br/><br/>During the visit, Mr Rivlin is likely to meet business leaders of both of India and Israel. He will visit Centre of Excellence in Agriculture in Karnal and participate in Agro Tech – 2016. He will also visit the Taj Mahal during his stay. <br/><br/>He is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising of officials, academicians and business leaders. Mr. Rivlin is likely to focus on agriculture cooperation between the two sides. India and Israel have excellent relations in the areas of economy and commerce, science and technology, research and innovation, culture, tourism, and education.
