Bihar is witnessing heavy rain in northern parts of the state for the last 24 hours. A maximum of 200 mm rain was recorded at Lauria in West Champaran district of the state. The Met department has issued a red '' in view of heavy rainfall in five districts of East and West Champaran, Saran, Siwan and Gopalganj. For the remaining districts, a yellow '' has been issued. Heavy rain with thunderstorms is likely to take place in south and eastern parts of the state including districts of Patna, Gaya, Nawada and Begusarai.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Sanjiv Hans, Principal Secretary, Water Resource Department said over four lakh cusec water discharged from Valmikinagar Gandak barrage. Water level of the Gandak river is increasing sharply and is flowing above danger marks. Water level will further increase following heavy rains in catchment areas of Nepal. People of low lying areas have been advised to move to safer places.</span><br />
