Bihar Vigilance Court orders confiscation of property belonging to a suspended IAS officer

Bihar Vigilance Court has ordered confiscation of property worth 1.4 crore rupees belonging to suspended IAS officer Shiv Shankar Verma. The court directed on Thursday that confiscation order should be complied with within a month. An FIR was lodged against Verma after vigilance sleuths raided his premises and unearthed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Mr Verma was posted as Secretary in the Minor Irrigation Department when the vigilance sleuths raided his premises in 2007.
