The Bihar Vigilance Bureau filed a petition in the special vigilance court seeking permission to confiscate the property of BJP MLA Sonelal Hembram. Mr. Hembram is an MLA from Katoria Assembly constituency. He is the first official turned politician in Bihar to face such an order after the Bihar Special Courts Act 2009 became operational in march 2010.Earlier the vigilance department filed a case against Sone Lal Hembram in disproportionate Case. Sone Lal Hembram was booked after sleuths of Income Tax department raided his premises at Patna when he was Deputy Commissioner of the state excise department. The value of his property was then 2.67 crores and now the present value of his assets is worth over 10 crores
