A Bihar Resident Wasil Khan, who was mistaken a Pakistani National, was Released from Amritsar Central Jail today after 8 years. He was arrested By Punjab Police in Gurdaspur district in 2002 and was believed to have crossed over to India illegally, when he failed to give a valid reason for his presence near the border. His sister Munazra Khatoon and his brother in law Shahid Raza Khan identified him. They said that he had been missing for the last 10 years. They submitted documents to prove his identity. Justice Mehtab Singh Gill of Punjab and Haryana High Court inquired the matter and finally ordered his release.
