About 25.93 percent voting has been reported in the first four hours in Bihar, where polling is underway in 7 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies.
JD(U) National President and party candidate from Madhepura seat Sharad Yadav was among those who exercised his franchise. According to state election commission office maximum 30 percent voting was reported in Begusarai, while minimum 23 percent voting was at Samastipur constituency.
Madhubani reported 24 percent followed by Madhepura 26.45, Khagaria 26.5, Jhanjharpur 25 and Darbhanga 26 Percent.
Polling began on a peaceful note at 7 AM. Apart from a few cases of delay of voting at a few places due to EVM fault no untoward incident has been reported so far.
26 percent voting has been reported at Sahebpur Kamal assembly seat, where by election is underway.
AIR correspondent reports that foolproof security arrangements have been made for polling in these areas. Voting will continue up to 6 PM, but in three Assembly segments Simri Bhaktiyarpur and Alloli in Khagaria and one Mahishi assembly segment in Madhepura parliamentary constituency voting will end at 4 PM.
94 candidates including 5 women are in fray. Prominent among them are JD(U) National President Sharad Yadav, BJP leader Kirti Azad, RJD leader Pappu Yadav and Ramvilas Paswan brother RamChandra Paswan. Over 1.13 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise. They include approximately 4 lakh first time voters.
