The Samajwadi party has released the first list of 109 candidates. CPI has also released the list of 58 candidates. AIR Patna correspondent reports that there is resentment among supporters of BJP and Janata Dal (United) over ticket distribution. Janata Dal (United) has denied tickets to ten sitting MLAs and BJP has not given tickets to four sitting MLAs. Senior leader of Janta Dal (United) and MP Upendra Kuswaha has resigned from the post of National General Secretary alleging discrimination in distribution of party tickets. On the other hand party MP Purnamasi Ram alleged that tickets were given without consultation with MPs. He announced that he will campaign for the congress. Shiv Prassan Yadav has submitted his resignation from the membership of MLC to Party President Sharad Yadav. Four BJP MLAs who have denied tickets declared that they will contest the elections as an independent candidate.Meanwhile, political parties are worried ahead of Ayodhya `verdict. State BJP president C.P. Thakur admitted that the party's stand on the Ayodhya issue is different from its alliance partner JD-(U) but there would be no problem after the verdict. JD-U state president Vijay Kumar Choudhary was reluctant to say anything about the likely impact of the judgment on the party’s poll prospects. He said that the party's poll plank is development. RJD state president Abdul Bari Siddiqui said that his party is fighting against communal forces and would not allow them to create trouble after the verdict.' Congress, which is contesting all seats in the assembly elections on its own, is also aware of the verdict of the court and its likely impact on the polls. However all political parties have agreed to abide by the decision of the court and asked their party men to maintain communal harmony.
