In Bihar, political parties have requested the Election commission to deploy jawans of central para military forces on every booth to ensure free and fair polls in the state. AIR Patna correspondent reports that leaders of Congress, BJP, JD (U),RJD,LJP,NCP,BSP,CPI and CPM have submitted their memoranda and apprised the Commission of their demands. These parties have requested the Election commission to take necessary steps to avoid poll malpractices during assembly elections in the state. Chief Election Commissioner S. Y. Quraishi along with two Election Commissioners V.S. Sampath and H.S. Brahma today reviewed election preparedness of 89 constituencies of the state at Bhagalpur. The Election Commission held discussions with Observers, District Magistrates, SPs, DIG and IGs of those areas where the first and fourth phase of elections are to be held.The Commission will review election preparedness for the second and third phase of elections on Wednesday at Muzaffarpur. The six-phase poll for 243 seats begins from 21st of this month and concludes on 20th of November. Votes will be counted on November 24.Meanwhile 836 candidates are in the fray for the third phase of elections in the state. For this phase candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till Thursday.
