Bihar phase 4: Parties throw stalwarts on poll eve

In Bihar, campaigning for the fourth phase of Assembly elections and Banka Parliamentary constituency will end this evening. Forty two Assembly constituencies will go to the polls in this phase on Monday. By-election to Banka parliamentary constituency was necessitated following the death of sitting MP Digvijay Singh on the June 24 this year. AIR correspondent reports, leaders of different political parties are making last ditch effort to woo voters. Stalwarts of different political parties, including Congress General secretary Rahul Gandhi, Senior BJP leaders Sahnawaz Hussain, Rajiv Pratap Rudy , Senior Janata Dal (United) leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, LJP President Ram Vilash Paswan are addressing a series of election meetings in different parts of the state.Meanwhile, repolling is continuing peacefully at four booths in each in Sugauli and Kalyanpur constituencies in East Champaran district, Baniyapur in Saran and Patepur in Vaishali district. Polling will continue till 5 pm while in Patepur it will end at 3 pm. The Election Commission has ordered repolling at five booths. Repolling at one booth at Mahnar assembly constituency will be held on Sunday.
