Bihar: Over 52 percent electorate exercise franchise

Over 52 per cent voting was recorded in the second phase of elections in Bihar Assembly polls today. Chief Electoral Officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh told AIR News that the maximum polling was reported from East Champaran which was 58 per cent. The polling was peaceful amid tight security arrangements in 47 constituencies including some in the naxal infested areas.AIR correspondent Krishna Kumar Lal reports, people fearlessly exercised their right of franchise in naxal infested constituencies of Minapur, Paru, Sahebganj, Sheohar and Belsand. Over one hundred people were taken into custody as a precautionary measure. Political fortune of 623candidates including 46 women have been sealed in EVMs after today's polling.
