Bihar hopes safe release of hostages by Maoists

The Bihar Police hoped that there will be safe release of four securitymen who had been made hostage by Maoists after fierce gunbattle with security forces on Sunday.The Director General of police Neelmani told AIR that the police will leave no stone unturned for safe release of security men.He furher stated that a combing operation is continuing in forest areas in Lakhisarai district of the state .AIR Patna correspondent reports that security men are taking cautious step so that maoist may not kill the hostage in their sheer desperation.Maoists have given ultimatum to Bihar government till 4pm today to release eight of their comrades who had been arrested a few days ago . While talking to a cross section of media maoist spokesperson Avinashji had asked the police to vacate the Sheetal Korasi forest area in Lakhisara district immediately if they wished the Maoists to free four police personnel that had been captive during encounter.Maoists claimed that their comrades also took possession of 33 weapons that the raiding party had with. They said that the attack was in retaliation to arrest eight of their colleagues in Jamui district a few days ago.
