Bihar hopes safe release of hostages by Maoists

In Bihar, police is hopeful of safe release of four securitymen who had been made hostage by Maoists following a fierce gunbattle with security forces on Sunday.The Director General of police Neelmani told AIR that the police will leave no stone unturned for safe release of security men.He further stated that the security men are taking cautious step so that maoists may not kill the hostage in their sheer desperation.Maoists have given ultimatum to the Bihar government to release eight of their comrades who are in different jails of the state, till 4 pm today.While talking to a cross section of media, maoist spokesperson had asked the police to vacate the Sheetal Korasi forest area in Lakhisara district immediately if they wished the Maoists to free four police personnel that had been taken captive during the encounter.In an emotional appeal ,worried family members of the police men held captive by the Maoists have urged the captors to release their bread earners.Chief Minister Nitish kumar assured the family members that all the four security men held captive by the Maoists would be released safely.AIR Patna correspondent reports that an intensive combing operation is continuing to find out the securitymen. CRPF commandos have been pressed into service in search operation.
