The Bihar government has returned five crore rupees given by the Gujarat government for Kosi flood relief. The decision is believed to have been taken after local papers carried advertisements about this help by the Gujarat government, prior to the BJP national executive meeting in Patna last week. The advertisement showed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi holding hands together and it upset Nitish Kumar so much that he cancelled a dinner with BJP leaders.
The Bihar unit of BJP has termed the decision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as unfortunate. Party Spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh asked Nitish Kumar to reconsider his decision and said the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should not do politics in the name of flood relief.
