The Bihar government has released over 358 crore for the Kosi rehabilitation and construction programme in the three flood affected districts of Supaul , Madhepura and Saharsa of the state. The Planning and Development Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav told AIR the funds had been given directly to the districts for quick and effective rehabilitation of the affected people. The Minister said the world bank will provide 220 million US dollars for the flood victims. During Kosi floods in 2008 about 3.3 million people had severely affected in five districts of – Madhepura, Supaul, Saharsa, Purnia and Khagaria in the state.
