Bihar Government has ordered a high level inquiry into the clash and subsequent arson in Ajitpur village under Saraiya police station of Muzaffarpur district. Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said, the Home Secretary and the Additional Director General of police will be jointly conducting the inquiry. He announced 5 lakh rupees compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. Thirteen persons including the main accused in the boy's kidnapping case, have been arrested so far.
Senior Superintendent of Police, R.K. Mishra said that three persons were killed and three injured after a mob set on fire over a dozen houses following the recovery of the body of a kidnapped boy near the house of the accused yesterday. However, with the recovery of one more body today, the number of those who died, has reached four. The boy had gone missing since the 9th of this month. His family members had lodged an FIR with Saraiya police station alleging that the boy had been kidnapped by the relatives of a girl who knew him. Meanwhile, additional Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey said that the incident was prima facie the outcome of a love affair.
