In Bihar, the state government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the violence and police firing in Madhubani district two days ago and transferred senior administrative and police officials. The state government has also decided to recommend a CBI probe into the kidnapping and the killing of the student named Prashant.

The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has cancelled his Adhikar Sammelan and reviewed the security situation in Madhubani with the top officials of state government including Principal Secretary and Home Secretary. A few days earlier an outrage occurred at Madhubani where many vehicles and government offices were burnt on the issue of handing over of the dead body of a student. Two people were killed in police firing.
