The Bihar government has dismissed 25 policemen on corruption charges. They include 16 sub-inspectors and 7 Assistant Sub-Inspectors. The dismissal came after the charges of corruption against them were found to be true. Director General of Police Abhayanand told AIR that all the dismissed policemen were facing graft charges and were caught red-handed by the State Vigilance Bureau, while accepting bribes.AIR Patna correspondent reports that this is for the first time that so many policemen were dismissed in one go in the state on corruption charges. The order of dismissal from service were issued by the State Police Headquarters after the review of departmental proceedings against the officials.
