Bihar govt decides to introduce “Right to Service Bill” in current session

Bihar government has taken decision to introduce “Right to Service Bill” in the current session of the Assembly. The decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting last night. Once the Right to Service Bill is passed by the State Assembly it becomes an act which will put the onus of delivering around 30 identified services within a time frame on the public servant. The bill envisages punishment to officials if public utility service is not delivered within a time-frame. The Bill is expected to weed out corruption.
