The Bihar government is conducting a special polio round in the state during the festive season of Chhath. The special round would continue till November 3 during which the children in the age group of 0-5 years would administered anti- polio drops .The mop-up round targets migrants who return to their homes on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath festivals.AIR Patna correspondent reports that polio drops are being administered at all the railway stations and bus stands across the state so that not a single child remains uncovered. Arrangements have also been made at all the banks of the rivers in the state where chhath devotees assemble to offer prayer to the Sun God to administer anti polio drops to the children.The time is the most appropriate as lakhs of people return home in this festive season. For the first time in Bihar, no case of polio virus has been reported from the state during the last one year. Bihar has not reported any case of P3 virus for the last one and a half year while no P1 case has come up since September, 2010.
