Bihar Governor appeals to Sikhs to take part in 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh

Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind today appealed to the Sikh community across the globe to take part in celebrations of 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh which will be held between 30th December this year and 10th January next year. Addressing the valedictory session of three-day International Conclave at Patna, Mr. Kovind said, it is a matter of great opportunity and challenge for the state government to organise the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj as 'Prakash Parv' who was the 10th Guru of Sikhs. He said 'Prakash Parv' would provide Bihar an opportunity to show-case itself on a global stage. <br/><br/>Stating that Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism evolved and grew in Bihar, the Governor said, the State is the birth place of Guru Govind Singh. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Punjab counterpart Parkash Singh Badal on 22nd of this month inaugurated the Sikh Conclave, the first of its kind. They released a book dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh. Badal gave a cheque of 10 crore rupees to Kumar to set up a building to accommodate people coming to Patna to participate in the 'Prakash Parv'. The Conclave was attended by eminent Sikh personalities from the country and abroad.
