Bihar goods train derailment disrupts busiest N.Rlys route

Twenty-six wagons of a goods train derailed in Bihar's Kaimur district Thursday night at 9:30 PM, damaging tracks and disrupting train services, Mughalsarai DRM Anoop Kumar said, no casualties were reported.

Our Patna correspondent report that the goods train carrying coal was coming from Dhanbad to Mughalsarai junction and it may take 50 to 60 hours to repair the damaged track.

The railways have set up help lines at Mughalsarai and Gaya railway stations. Help line number at Mughalsarai is o541 2254145 and Gaya number is 0631 2223320.

About half a dozen trains including Delhi – Howrah Janata Express, Howrah – Delhi Janata Express, Delhi -Kolkata Lal Quila Express, Kolkata -Delhi Lal Quila express, Gaya New Delhi Mahabodhi express have been cancelled.

Rail traffic on one of the busiest New Delhi Howrah route is badly affected since last night due to derailment of more than one dozen coaches of Kanpur bound goods train under Mughalsarai rail division.

Quoting official sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that due to derailment, about five trains will not come to Allahabad station due to diversion of routs of the trains.

Affected trains includes both Howrah and Indore bound Shipra Express diverted via Singrauli- Katni, Bhuvneshwar New Delhi Orissa Sampark Kranti Express diverted via Manikpur and Katni, New Delhi Puri Neealnchal Express diverted via Mughalsarai Patna and Gaya. Allahabad Mughalsarai passenger partially cancelled between Chunar and Mughalsarai.

Coal loaded bogies were derailed near Bhabhua railway station in Eastern Central Railway damaging both Up and Down tracks.
