In Bihar, Over 72 lakh people in 16 districts are reeling under the impact of floods. Flood situation is still grim in districts of Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur,East Champaran and Saran. Standing crops spread over 7.5 lakh hectares have been damaged  due to floods. 33 teams of NDRF and SDRF are carrying  out relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas. Kosi and Ganga are also maintaining a rising trend. Engineers have been instructed to keep a close watch on embankments of Burhi Gandak in Samastipur and Khagaria. The Met Department has forecast heavy rains in catchment areas of various rivers in north Bihar and Nepal in the next 48 hours.</span><br />
