The National Commission for Minorities will submit its findings and recommendations within a week to the Union government on the 3rd June police firing at Bhajanpur village in Araria district of Bihar. Four people including an infant and a pregnant woman of minority community were killed in the firing. After talking to the victims of the families, the Chairman of the Commission, Wajahat Habibullah described the death of four persons in the firing as a national loss and set to recommend compensation to the bereaved families. Mr Habibullah said in Patna that those killed in the firing had no reasons to die and the two youths among the victims were breadwinners of their respective families. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that stringent action would be taken against the culprits without any delay. AIR Patna correspondent reports, the state government has issued a notification for the constitution of a judicial commission to probe police firing in Araria district. The commission headed by retired justice Madhvendra Sharan has been asked to submit its report within six months.
