Bihar Finance Minister Presents 2.78 Lakh Crore Budget for 2024-25; Education Sector Tops Allocation at 22.2%

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">In Bihar, Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary today presented the Budget of 2.78 lakh crore rupees for the financial year 2024-25 in the state assembly. This is the first budget of the newly formed NDA government which was constituted on 28th January. Mr. Choudhary who is holding the finance portfolio for the first time said, the highest allocation has been made for the education sector which accounts for 22.2 percent of the budget. The rural development department has got a chunk of 13.84 percent whereas the third highest allocation of 8.19 percent has been made for the social welfare department. The Minister said, like previous years this time the budget is also revenue surplus which stands 1121 crore rupees. The revenue surplus will be used for asset creation, infrastructure and several developmental projects. Mr. Choudhary also said that the fiscal deficit to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has been kept within the limit of 3 percent as per FRBM Act. Mr. Choudhary, who also holds the post of Deputy Chief Minister, said that the state has registered a growth of 10.64 percent during the current fiscal year and more than 2 crore people were uplifted from the vicious circle of poverty.</p>
