In Bihar, campaigning for the first phase of election in the state came to an end on Tuesday evening. 47 constituencies will go to polls in this phase on Thursday. Most of the constituencies are in the border areas.AIR correspondent K.K.Lal reports that contesting candidates have started door to door campaigning to garner support of voters. Stalwarts of different political parties including star campaigners addressed a series of meetings and rallies for this phase. Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Rahul Gandhi addressed election meetings. In addition to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kuma, BJP President NItin Gadkari, JD ( U) president Sharad Yadav, RJD President lalu Prasad Yadav, LJP Chief Ramvilash Paswan and BSP Ms. Mayawati addressed election meetings. Political parties have raised the issue of development of the state to woo voters.
