Bihar: EC bans election symbols of JMM, Shiv Sena

In Bihar, the Election Commission has banned the election symbols of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) and Shiv Sena in view of their similarity with the symbol of Janta Dal(United), JD(U). This step has been taken by the Election Commission after inquiry when the JD(U) had approached the Commission. The symbols of both the Shiv Sena and the JMM are the 'Bow and Arrow', while that of the JD (U) is 'Arrow' symbol.<br />''<br />''In a representation to the Election Commission, the JD( U) had demanded to ban the election symbols of JMM and Shiv Sena in Bihar as they look like the symbol of JD(U).
