Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today made an aerial survey of flood affected areas of Kosi and Seemanchal. This is his third aerial survey of the affected areas during the week. Mr. Kumar visited Purnea and Supaul and reviewed the prevailing flood situation. The Chief Minister inspected Kosi embankment and instructed engineers to step up flood protection work. Mr Kumar stressed to intensify relief works in affected areas.<br />'' <br />''Over 74 lakh people spread over 16 districts are reeling under the impact of floods. The flood situation is worst in Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran and Saran districts.<br />'' <br />''Thirty three teams of NDRF and SDRF are carrying out relief and rescue operations in flood affected areas. Over five lakh people have been evacuated so far. In all, 1,342 community kitchens have been set up for providing food to about ten lakh people.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Bagmati, Burhi Gandak, Kosi, and Adhwara group of rivers are flowing above danger mark.
