Bihar CM moves trust motion in assembly; Cong to vote in favour

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has sought the vote of confidence in the state assembly. Discussion is on on the motion.

Congress which has four members in the assembly, has decided to vote in favour of the trust motion. Former alliance partner BJP walked out from trust vote after accusing Nitish Kumar of betraying mandate.

The ruling JD(U), which has 118 MLAs in the 243 member assembly, requires support of four more MLAs to prove majority. RJD has already announced that its 22 legislators will vote against the confidence motion.

Our correspondent reports that some independent MLAs are likely to extend their support to the Nitish Kumar government during the confidence motion in the assembly.

Meanwhile, BJP has declared Nand Kishore Yadav as the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly.
