The Bihar Budget for 2011-12 proposes increase in tax on motor vehicle, television, detergent and other commodities by one percent. VAT has also been increased from four to five percent.Presenting the Budget in the State Assembly in Patna today Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who holds the Finance Portfolio said laid on social and infrastructure projects were given emphasis in the 65 thousand crore rupee budget to achieve inclusive growth.AIR Patna correspondent reports that the new tax proposals will net 450 crores rupees to the state exchequer.
