Bihar BJP in damage control mode as crisis deepens

In Bihar efforts are on to overcome political crisis in the state unit of BJP. National President of the party Nitin Gadakari has not accepted the resignation of Dr C. P. Thakur. Thakur resigned on Friday from the post of state chief of the party in protest against denial of party ticket to his son. He alleged that many tickets were given without his knowledge or consent. Internal politics of the Bihar BJP unit has further deepened following resignation of Ashwani Kumar Choubey from the Core Committee of the party. Choubey alleged that party tickets were given to candidates without consulting the Core Committee and there was no justification for continuing in the committee. AIR Patna correspondent reports that if the ongoing political crisis is not resolved, the party will have to suffer a loss in the Assembly elections.
