Bihar Assembly speaker Awadh Bihari Choudhary refuses to resign despite no-confidence motion

Mr. Choudhary further said the fate of no confidence motion will be decided by members of the House.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The members of BJP and JD(U) had given notice to the secretary of the Assembly to remove Mr. Choudhary on 28th January, just after the formation of the government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Awadh Bihari Choudhary is a member of RJD. According to the rule, the incumbent Speaker may continue the post for the duration of 14 days after submission of notice against him.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">In the 243 member Bihar Assembly, RJD and Congress led Grand Alliance has the support of 114 members, on the other hand newly formed BJP-JD(U) led NDA has support of 128 members. One member of AIMIM is not supporting any alliance. The floor test of Nitish Kumar led government is scheduled to take place on 12th February.</span></p>
