The poll process for Bihar assembly elections begins today with the notification of the first phase. The filing of nominations for this phase also begins today. The last day for filing of nominations is 4th October. Scrutiny will be on 5th October and candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till 7th October. The first phase of elections will be held in eight districts of the state which are Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj,Purnea, Katihar , Madhepura and Saharasa. The polls will be held in six phases on 21st, 24 th, 28th October and1st, 9th and 20th November for the 243 seats. This is the first assembly election after delimitation of constituencies. AIR Patna correspondent reports that 47 constituencies in the state will go to the polls in this phase on 21st October. The six phase poll for 243 seats begins from 21st of next month and concludes on 20th of November. The counting of the votes will be on 24th November. The election process is to be completed before 26th November.
